作者簡介：

劉詠聰，香港浸會(huì)大學(xué)歷史系教授、系主任，曾任美國國務(wù)院富布萊特訪問學(xué)人暨波士頓東北大學(xué)歷史系客座教授。作者主要從事中國性別史研究，著有《女性與歷史：中國傳統(tǒng)觀念新探》（1993）、《中國古代的育兒》（1997）、《德才色權(quán)：論古代中國女性》（1998），編有《中國婦女傳記辭典（清代卷）》（Biographical Dictionary of Chinese Women: The Qing Period，英文版1998；中文版2010)、Windows on the Chinese World: Reflections by Five Historians（2009）、Overt and Covert Treasures: Essays on the Sources for Chinese Women’s History（2012）、《性別視野中的中國歷史新貌》（2012）等書；另撰有中外學(xué)術(shù)期刊及專集論文六十余篇。作者學(xué)術(shù)自傳見于《智慧的出場：當(dāng)代人文女學(xué)者側(cè)影》（謝玉娥編，2013）及A Journey into Women’s Studies: Crossing Interdisciplinary Boundaries (ed. Rekha Pande, 2014)。
